I am a South African, born in Cape Town, and happily married for 20 years this year (2021). We got married in London and then headed back to South Africa in 2004/5. We then lived in the Swartland, north of Cape Town, for the next 16 years, 13 of them in Malmesbury.

I reached 60kg in December 2017. I was doing YouTube strength workouts 3-4 times a week and 5km Parkruns on Saturday mornings from July to December and also used my treadmill about 3 times a week. I still occasionally use 16:8 IF for helping to stick to my calorie limits, but calorie cycling is my main tool. Since then I’ve hovered around 63kg for a couple of years and then stabilised around 65kg during the first lockdown of 2020.

We’ve now relocated back to the UK and I got myself a 20kg set of adjustable dumbbells. I love trying different YouTube strength workouts and enjoy regular walks. I want to feel lean and strong again and I know that with the help of my FatSecret friends and applying everything I've learned thus far I can get there. I believe in consistency over perfection and you don't always need motivation - you just need to get up and do it! CICO!
