So much for a quiet Friday, came into missed calls and chaos. Yay. Still taking the time to journal so I don't lose my habit.

Swam late last night, doing pretty good on the recovery. Exertion-wise, definitely not a difficult swim, but trying to come back without reinjuring myself. So here's where we are: 777 strokes, heart rate average at 128, 10.4METs. No minutes in cardio, which means I've retained fitness, if nothing else. Back felt mostly good, but I can still feel it, which is not the norm. I did spend a few minutes this morning sucking everything in and holding it tight which I could not do without pain last week, so there is progress there. The residual pain is on the left side and it is getting better. Slow and steady on this one. I've done a lot of dumb stuff over the years, and while this is not the most traumatic, it's up there. Will be looking up lower back exercises this weekend and we'll see where we can get to.

Some Friday cuteness. He's avoiding eye contact because directly next to him is a giant hole that he definitely didn't dig and hasn't noticed one tiny bit. Nope, he doesn't even know what I'm talking about. Must have been someone else. Probably wild coyotes, or the racoons. They are big trouble. Never mind that he's curled up on the walkway covered in dirt from that hole.
