I am a 5'7" retired graphic artist, 74 year old alto in my Episcopal Church choir. I have made it my yearly discipline to give up alcohol for Lent. The beginning of the pandemic happened to coincide with Lent in 2020. I decided to keep going with my WOE and lost 30 lbs. My WOE is 18/6 IF moderate carb Paleo. I pretty much avoid grains, dairy, and legumes and use only olive oil, avocado oil, and ghee for cooking (occasionally some grass-fed butter). I also like to have red wine a couple of times a week. I strive to eat only grass-fed or pastured meat and eggs and wild caught seafood. For the past few years I have had the same green smoothie to break my fast at 12:45 or 1:00 each day and then eat dinner at 6:00. Before I started on FS this year, a week into Lent, I had been backsliding for a while eating ice cream (my weakness), desserts, etc. I love to bake and I am the only one here to eat the stuff. I had quit even having sugar and regular flour in the house for years. Well, I had gained the weight back and decided this time to start tracking every bite. I weigh once a week and since Ash Wednesday I have lost 22.5 pounds and want to keep going! I have been keeping my profile private but decided today, May 3, 2023, to go public.
