Back to pre vacation weight! Not too shabby. It goes to show that you won’t put on 5 lbs of fat in three days. Especially if your activity is anywhere near your intake. The worst you could gain would be a pound and you’d really have to work at it. Fat weight is gained over weeks and months of heavy eating with little activity. Opposite goes for losing weight. Not gonna happen overnight!

Most daily fluctuation is due to water gain/loss. Yes, the accumulation of body fat (unused energy that converts to matter) takes place over a longer period of time. Conversely, the usage of stored energy (body fat) that results in weight reduction also takes place over time. The takeaway: Try to be patient as well as vigilant.

Thank you for saying what I was trying to say I. A more eloquent manner! 😊 We all get so excited when we see a new low (usually temporary) and so depressed when we see a high (also temporary). I enjoy seeing posts where the temporary mins and maxes are both minimized. It’s the long term that truly matters!

dude I love this post. I hit a huge weight spike after my weekend getaway. I'm also back to pre- weekend weight. I kept thinking all that sodium and water weight jive was just mumbo-jumbo. I believe it now though.

And don’t forget that if you are really overindulging like when on vacation, you have 26 feet of bowel full of shit and that is a lot of weight. I have cared for severely constipated people who had upward of 20 lb. of fecal material impacted in their bowel

Eamfit— that’s right, he did. He used so many narcotics that his bowel had no motility, peristalsis. These problems are seen not infrequently with psychiatric patients

I really do hope that I have more in there to give. Down 6 lbs+ My wife will be happy to hear these facts also. Maybe I’m actually at my goal weight?

I read some where that eating a bunch of apples will help move things along with the bm's and weight loss.
